We are holding a competition for people learning to speak the Japanese language.

It will be split into three levels:

  • Beginner: a 30 second to 1 minute talk explaining who you are and why you are learning the language, plus anything you find interesting that you wish to talk about.
  • Intermediate: a 2 minute talk based on one of the following subjects of your choice:
    • Your hobby
    • Japanese food and drink
    • Your favourite manga or anime
    • Japanese fashion
    • Your favourite place to visit in Japan
  • Advance: a 3 minute talk based on one of the following subjects of your choice:
    • Living in Japan
    • Holidaying in Japan
    • Japanese business
    • Japanese politics
    • The Fukushima disaster
    • Japanese religion
    • Japanese etiquette

To apply to take part in the competition, please contact us at info@dokidokifestival.com to request an application form, which must be returned by the deadline of 8 November 2013 (entrants may also register on the day of the festival, although this is only recommended for the advance level).
