Doki Doki – The Manchester Japanese Festival is the 1st of its kind in Manchester to celebrate not only Anime and Manga but also Japanese culture. This event will be running every 2 years in conjunction with Japan Society North West's Japan Day. The Daytime event will run from 9am-7pm and the Evening event will run from 9pm-4am.

We have no age limit at our convention but anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian, the child will get in for free.

New talks and demonstrations have been added to the bill, the full run down at the moment are:

* Manga Character Basics with Sonia Leong
* Kimono Dressing with Jill from Festival of Japan
* The History of Anime with Andrew Osmond
* Visiting Japan and its Culture panel - with Akemi Solloway, Andrew Osmond, Beckii Cruel and Angela Davies.
* Viz Media talk on their new online streaming
* Local musician Liam is doing a Shamisen Guitar talk and performance
* Akemi Solloway talks
• Japanese Etiquette
• Shinto - Japan's Native Religion
* Spencer Lloyd Peet
• Martial Arts on Screen
• Gravure Idols (15+)
* Tab from Khaos kostumes
• Cosplay & SFX make-up
• Beginners Props Panel
* James Barrow
• Taiko talk and demostration
* Bujinkan Senki Dojo
• Samurai Displays and a table with Samurai Costumes
Bukido Kobudo Dojo
• 3 x half hour Kobudo Displays
* Amy & Teneeka
• Origami workshops and sales for Charity

We will be running a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross Society, for all the work they are doing following the Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster, and Aid for Japan, which aims to give long-term support for the orphans of the disaster. The Origami workshop demonstration proceeds will be going to these 2 charities.
